Hopefully pick up much more men will connect

Well any idea what of your headline? It's not exactly a bed that you read each day do you find it? "Men Walk a Mile in Hindfoot Shoes". However, I could promise you, it isn't really a late April Fool spoof. It's correct. Yesterday (2nd April) was the inaugural event of “ Walk a Mile In her Shoes” when 35 men in Palestine, donned a couple of brightly coloured high heel pumps to boost money to the Crisis Centre of Anderson and Cherokee Counties.

The essence walk would be to send out an incredibly public message that domestic violence mustn't be tolerated within their community. The Anderson County Sherriff who has been among thirty five men to execute the walk in stilettos, explained the significance of raising awareness against domestic violence stating that there was clearly “a lot against as well as children” along with the walk symbolised “men's support against domestic violence”. The Sherriff also admitted even though the walk ended up being fun it had been recently rather painful.

Good Palestine Herald Press, the 35 men were accompanied on the quest by 100 supporters who walked the mile using them. Different placards were carried including “I'm man enough walking within their shoes” together with the rather amusing “ At least Some ought to wax”

But regardless of whether the mile have been completed, it was not quite over. Some men were brave or should that be foolish enough to risk life and limb and take care of a 100 yard dash in their ladies high heel sandals. Girls it is something no sane person would recommend. Fortunately the lads appear emerged unscathed while using winner David Rayner IV taking home a $100. While many clearly found the entire experience rather painful, there was no reports of broken bones.

The total amount raised at this point is $9,000 dollars, though most people are expecting that to rise as money was being released. You must salute these men, who are able to look foolish to improve an element that blights so many different communities. The Crisis Centre representative Brendon Green and event co-ordinator was delighted with all the success of your event saying “I'm getting excited about repeating this pick up.”

Hopefully pick up much more men will connect and perhaps other communities looks towards them and judge to hold the same event. And lest anyone forget, although domestic violence is essentially perpetuated against along with children, you can also find some men that also suffer.

Structure men that took part in the presentation, there is the compensation of an free foot massage by local massage therapists. And think, if it is game enough to participate again batch that we get, not less than they know just a little on how to walk in high heels!
